Go Tramping

From 1 hour to 6 hours through the bush to waterfalls, or up to the top of the range for views of the Hauraki Gulf, Coromandel Harbour or the Pacific Ocean. Maybe detour to see glow-worms in an old goldmine.

Great fun

Try swimming and jumping from the bank into one of the 2 deep holes in the creek. For non-swimmers, build dams and find signs of life in the shallows. Also semi-precious stones in there too.

Local Activities

Off-farm activities could include a drive/walk to Colville Village (2/12 min) to the iconic Colville General Store for fuel, LPG, Organic goods, groceries, fishing gear etc, Hereford 'n' a Pickle Farm Shop or The Forager's Kitchen for your coffee and food fix. Lady Bug Art Gallery, Himalaya Shop (Indian clothes/jewellery/gifts - opens October - April).
Passing on the way there is the Mahamudra Buddhist Centre, our Medical Centre, Post Office, Social Service Collective (opposite the PDC) - with Internet, photocopy, 2nd hand clothes, Library etc; and the tennis Courts.
Then 500m further north you get your first glance of the sea, 2 minutes (1.5 kms) to Colville Bay - 2 1/2 kms away. Best all-tide swimming though is 10 minutes south - at Waitete Bay.
Ten minutes away are fishing possibilities either off the rocks, off your own boat (launched at Amodeo Bay or Otautu Bay) or try one of the charter companies operating nearby.
THEN... further afield are the highly-rated Coromandel Walkway (1hr10), The Driving Creek Railway (25mins) and Hot Water Beach (2hrs)
Location25 minutes north of Coromandel town and 2 minutes south of Colville village.
